By joining Eclipse, you agree to follow all of the rules.
 
All server rules are outlined across the three categories; chat, factions, and modifications. If a player isn't following the rules, please report them using either the forums on this  website or by making a ticket in our Discord server. Similarly, if you need clarification regarding any rules, please use the previously outlined methods.
 
Regarding punishments, bans will generally go from 30 days for a 1st offence, 90 days for a 2nd offence, and permanently for a 3rd offence. Mutes will generally go from 24 hours for a 1st offence, 7 days for a 2nd offence, and permanently for a 3rd offence. We cannot ensure that all punishments handed out will follow these patterns, as some extreme cases may require longer bans (network threats, major bug abuse, ect.). If a non-extreme case is older than 14 days, we are unlikely to hand out a punishment. Ensure that you report a player as soon as possible rather than waiting.
 
 

General Rules

General rules are mostly just common sense and will mostly be punished with a ban.

List of offences:

  • Bug abuse - Do not deliberately abuse bugs. All bugs should be reported via forums or Discord
  • Hacked clients/illegal mods - Allowed modifications are outlined in the modifications section
  • IRL trading - Do not promise IRL goods for in game goods, or vice-versa
  • Scamming - Includes not doing your part of a deal and deliberately misleading players (e.g. renamed items to make it look like a crate key)
  • Inappropriate builds
  • AFK Farming - Only includes macros/autoclickers. Standing AFK to load a chunk is fine
  • Bypassing punishments - Includes alternate accounts, abusing in game commands/items, ect

Chat Rules

Chat rules will always be punishable if broken in public chat. If a rule is broken in direct messages or Faction chat, it will only be punished if reported and if extreme (e.g. encouraging harm). Chat rules will generally be enforced via mutes, however it is likely that if a player is repeatedly breaking chat rules that a ban may be issued.

List of offences:

  • Spamming
  • Foreign languages - Eclipse's native language is English and public chat must be kept to English for moderation purposes
  • Inappropriate discussion - All topics are allowed (unless illegal), however, political, religious, and non-PG discussion should be kept to a minimum
  • Illegal discussion - Anything deemed illegal under UK law (e.g. drugs) shouldn't be discussed
  • Impersonation
  • IRL threats - Adding "in-game" at the end of a threat will still make it punishable
  • Discrimination/hate speech - Disrespecting people based on any attributes outlined in the UK's Equality Act 2010
  • Harassment - Bullying, spreading misinformation, ect
  • Encouraging harm or self-harm
  • Being a nuisance - We can't ensure everything will be covered in these rules, so as a rule of thumb, don't be annoying
